Master data management (MDM) is one the core disciplines of the overall process of Data management. Master Data Management  is a process of managing and maintaining critical data of organizations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all their systems. Data across business is varied and is found in different formats. MDM helps create a standardised and unified view of Data across all aspects of business/lines of business which helps in de-duplicating data and in increasing accuracy and maintaining consistency for operational and analytical uses while ensuring completeness. MDM applies the processes of data integration, cleansing, enrichment, quality and governance to create a master record which is also considered to be the single source of truth.
