Overview.

The client embarked on a five-year growth strategy to advance life science research and clinical applications, aiming to enhance patient outcomes. To support this initiative and meet evolving research community needs, Coforge modernized the customer’s IT infrastructure with a digital-first approach. We leveraged MuleSoft's API-led approach via Anypoint Platform, for transitioning from hand-coded integrations, implementation and legacy system migration. 

Challenges

The challenges faced by the client include modernizing legacy IT infrastructure with complex, hand-coded integrations to support a large community of life science researchers. Ensuring scalability, connectivity, and compliance while transitioning to a digital-first approach poses significant operational and security challenges.

Solution

  • We implemented Anypoint Platform and integrated more than 15 systems, applying standardized Software Development Lifecyle methodology and quality gates to validate deliverables at each stage. This approach enabled faster user acceptance, whilst minimizing the number of code issues during production.
  • Applied best practices, governance and reusability principles throughout.
  • Built reusable components like APIs deployed for employee database are now being reused across multiple projects, saving significant time and effort.
  • To enable visibility into integrations across their application network in real time, we helped their IT team to set up Anypoint Monitoring with tailored dashboards, and integrated system alerts with ServiceNow to automate incident generation.
