New Delhi, 25th September, 2012, Tuesday: NIIT Technologies Ltd. (NSE: NIIT Technologies), a leading IT solutions Company, has bagged the “Skoch Digital Inclusion Award 2012”. The award recognizes the best ICT-backed initiative, for its Border Security Force project, Intranet Prahari. The Company was conferred the award under the ‘Best Process Automation’ category as the project enabled BSF perform more efficiently with the integration of major processes.
This is the second award conferred on Intranet Prahari in this quarter, after been recognized the “Best G2G Initiative of the year” at eWorld Forum during July this year.

The award was presented by Mr. R Chandrashekhar, Chairman TC & Secretary (T), Department of Telecommunications during the Skoch Summit “reform 2.0” at Hotel Shangri-La, in New Delhi, recently.
The Intranet Prahari project is essentially an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution implemented by NIIT Technologies for BSF wherein all major processes such as finance, inventory management, operations and personnel information have been automated and integrated to act as a robust and quick decision support system and for consolidated view of data by higher echelons.
NIIT Technologies leveraged its experience with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to develop the ‘Intranet Prahari’ application for the BSF, using state-of-the-art technology. The supply and set-up of the entire infrastructure of the project included establishment of a central data center, 10 mini data centers, a disaster recovery center and infrastructure in a total of 237 sector Headquarters and battalions and offered technical trainings to more than 20,000 BSF employees at 237 sites.

Founded in 1997, Skoch Consultancy Services Private Limited, is a boutiwue strategy and management consulting firm. The awards Committee is constituted, which comprised of senior professionals from academia, government, industry and other stakeholders in the ICTsupported development of the country.
